Attack of the chair and the giggly boy

Our boy is 6 months old today (well yesterday)
He is 26.5 inches, is 19.3 lbs and has a head diameter off the chart (no comments from the sierras please about "bighead")

He is now wearing 12 month clothes, cause most 9 month close cap off at the length that he is up to.

He is eating 2nd stage foods, enjoys those dissolving cereal puffs, and his doc says he can try experimenting with more table foods. She is very impressed with Silas' hand to hand dexterity with toys and is definitely becoming mobile.

we also had to buy him new clothes. out with the 6 month and under in with the 12 month and older (somewhere he decided he would just skip 9 month clothes). Also very happy with clothes we got from Mamaw and soon to be received from Nana.

We also had to invest in a high chair as he is learning to scoot across the floor, the counter, and even with the bumbo attached to his bum.

other than this exciting bit of news. we spent the rest of the time at work work and work. even saturday and sunday. Bleh.

so now its off to bed and presumable nightmares of projectile brown sludge (dont ask how, but lil man can defy gravity with his "special sauce" but that is a story for next time- the things they dont tell you about fatherhood.

is it just me....or is that a big fish

TGI-Labor day.....that was our theme this weekend.

We headed for the coast to the Holland farm right after work......let me tell you- BIG MISTAKE.
4+hours in the car later we made it to onslow.

It only took 145 minutes to get to smithfield, a 30 min drive normally. By then baby mama and baby were both hungry, my butt was asleep, and lets just say we werent singing beach music.

But we are all troopers and we pushed on....THANK YOU DRILL SARGEANT

so we made it to the house. fortunately aunt pam had the light on for us. It was eerie quiet. Except for the carcasses of a few "water bugs" the house was in good shape, mom and others were quite busy getting things left for the fam to use the house as a reststop.

We got boy down at his normal bedtime and collapsed soon after. Minus the scrunchy mattress sounds, grandma had a thing about matress wraps i guess, it was a well deserved rest.

Saturday brought weed wacking, snake grabbing, and a side of ripping vines off the house. After that, we left the remaining army of workers to the other yard task and
headed for the beach.

for those unfamiliar with the Emerald Isle area, it was living well up to its name. the water was beautiful emerald green, nice and warm, and minus the tattooed women and hairy earing men, it was very relaxing. Silas enjoyed 1o mins in the water and sand (we forgot his sun lotion)

to make up for it, we then took him to the aquarium at pine knoll shores. I know some folks out here might think he is still a little young for things like that, but man he LOVED watching the sharks and tuna in the tank. Definitely puts it in perspective to see how big he is, yet small compared to a 10 ft shark.
after that, we had dairy queen, and silas made us a special treat of his own. Lets just say lil swimmers are not all that good at keeping water in.......

silas got to enjoy ice cream, banana pudding and even some bacon juice, not that i know where he got that from....
it was a good weekend all in all.
